L.E.K. Consulting names global co-heads for industry practices

Global consulting firm L.E.K. Consulting has appointed new leaders for three of its industry practices.

With more than 1,400 professionals across the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, L.E.K. Consulting is one of the globe’s leading management consulting firms, specialised in strategy, organisations and a range of other consultancy services.

The UK-headquartered firm works across the private and public sector, serving the market with 10+ industry groups. Three of those – Consumer, Healthcare and Industrials – have now seen new leaders take the helm. Notably, seven global co-heads have been installed across the three units, in a move that Global Managing Partner Stuart Jackson describes as a means to further “improve collaboration within the firm”.

Consumer

Co-leading the Consumer practice are London-based partner Dominic Miles and Chicago-based Manny Picciola. The latter partner has been with L.E.K. Consulting for over 20 years, and specialises in strategy, channel management, consumer segmentation, turnarounds and M&A transaction services. Picciola also leads the firm’s global Food and Beverage practice.

Miles has over three decades of advisory experience. He works principally in the consumer, retail and services sectors, in which he has undertaken numerous proposition development, route to market, format, operating model reconfiguration and transactional engagements. 

Industrials

L.E.K. Consulting’s Industrial practice is responsible for the firm’s services to clients in among others the aerospace & defence, automotive, chemicals, energy, heavy industry, metals & mining, and paper & packaging sectors. Heading this division are partners Jeremy Wheatland (based in London) and Carol Wingard (based in Chicago). 

Wheatland has been with the firm since 1995, having previously gained experience in the oil & gas industry. At L.E.K., he has led industrials engagements focused on strategy advice and transaction support involving market entry, product and services strategy development, business plan development, commercial due diligence, value-based management and portfolio optimisation. 

Carol Wingard has similarly been with the management consultancy for over two decades. She leads the firm’s Chemicals and Industrial Equipment practices, and is Chairperson of the L.E.K. Partner Development Committee. Before relocating to the US, she spent nine years in China where she was a founding partner of L.E.K.’s China practice.

Healthcare

A trio of senior advisors have been appointed in its Healthcare practice. Ben Faircloth, who has been with L.E.K. since 2007, is the leader of the firm’s European healthcare team. He helps healthcare providers, pharma services and medical devices, among others, with strategic planning, market entry strategies and transaction due diligence.

Also a global co-head, Chicago-based Jonas Funk has been with the firm for over 17 years. He has led dozens of client engagements, many involving growth strategies and M&A support in the medtech and life sciences industries. Based in Singapore, Fabio La Mola is responsible for the Asia-Pacific region as well as the firm’s Asia-Pacific Life Sciences Centre of Excellence. He has nearly two decades of healthcare services and life sciences experience related to strategy, organisation and performance.
